K2 article
analysis.
Firstly, in the K2 article, the who and partly the what is
mentioned in the headline. It mentions the name of the climber (Denis Urubko)
and that there are fears for the climber after some sort of expedition row.
In paragraph one, BBC give the readers a general overview of
the situation by mentioning the who, what and where of the story. This does the
reader a basic overview of the situation, however, still leaving the audience
with enough questions to continue to read the article.
In paragraph two we learn when the story happens which is
presently. We know this as in the article it says “Denis Urubko left teammates
on Saturday at the base camp”. The article is split into short precise
sentences which get to the point. This helps the reader understand the story
better and also simplifies the layout which results in the reader not becoming
bored due to long winded paragraphs.
We don’t learn the
why until paragraph 7 of the article. this may be due to the why not being as
important as many other aspects of the story such as the who and the what.
Finally, in paragraph 14 we learn the how of the story. the
how of the story is usually near the end as it is not key information to know
the whole story.
